And the LITTLE PREP way but lots of fun for a pocket chart group activity or station.  This one has two different record sheets for differentiating instruction.

Classroom Management Made Easier and A Giveaway of Course

Classroom management is so much easier when your classroom is set up like a community and everyone helps out; this not only teaches students responsibility but it also allows the teacher to spend more time teaching and less time managing. Over the years I found that if each and every student had a classroom job it made my job a lot easier and the students took more ownership of their surroundings.  In my classroom I could guarantee that one of the first things I would hear on Monday morning was, "Mrs. Funk what is my job for the week?" Once we established each students job for the week all I had to do when I needed something  is say the job title and that student or students knew exactly what to do.  Classroom job training is part of the first few weeks of school, practice, practice, practice.  I always used a poster-board for my job chart but recently I found  clip art that was perfect for a new jobs chart so ......yep you guessed it a new jobs chart was born.  Well actually three because I have "One Thing Leads to Another Syndrome" and kept making new ones because I  Couldn't decide which one I liked best.  So now it's your turn.  Which one would you want in your classroom?  Leave a comment with your e-mail address and the color you like best and I will pick three winners.  You can also visit our Facebook page for a chance to win as well.  Oh, did I mention this pack is completely EDITABLE! Click on the picture to see a full description.

This pack is filled with jobs for everyone in your room and editable to the job descriptions you use in your classroom or you can use the ones provided.

Reading Focus Wall FLASH FREEBIE

Hey all!

I've had a :::crazy::: busy day today!  I went into school early this morning to try to get work done before my kids woke up (we're talking 6 AM) and ended up in urgent care with my littlest little guy by 6 PM.  They say he just has a virus but what a day!  He's sleeping now so mommy's getting some work done since I can't cuddle anymore.

This morning I was pretty productive and I did get my focus wall DONE.  I'm WAAAAY excited.  I think all my Instagram followers can probably tell, right?  I decided to put it up as a FLASH FREEBIE so go ahead and grab it here!  It'll be a freebie until I go to bed...or if I fall asleep, it might be in the morning!

I'm going to be adding some Open House stuff and other classroom decor things this week so keep watching!  I've loved seeing all my new followers on Instagram!  Love it!  Come check out my TPT store for lots of freebies and some fun units!

Smile!

Back To School...Beach to School GIVEAWAY!

Hi all!

I don't know about you but I'm already getting in the Back to School mode...  I blame Target!  Love that Dollar Spot...  I can neither confirm nor deny that I went to 3 Targets yesterday to go through the Dollar Spot.  Slightly embarrassed about that one but I did find the mini caddy I needed!

ANYWAY...I decided to look through my back to school stuff and since we're starting school on August 12 this year (Anyone else starting that early?) I looked through my little Beach to School unit I made last year.  While I liked it last year, I decided to give it a little face lift and then added a ton to it (so it was 35 pages and now it's 63!).  WHEW!  I'm SUPER excited about how it turned out and am really excited to use it next month with my new group of kiddos!

If you already purchased it, THANK YOU and please go download the new version.  Trust me.  Totally.  Worth.  It.  If you haven't purchased it yet, I have it on sale for $2.00 until Friday!  Woot, woot!  I love sales.  And as always, I would LOVE feedback!  Here are some pics of a few of the updated pages.

And since I'm so excited about my finds at Target, I'm going to give away two of these units to the first two people to comment what their must have back to school purchase is.  And....GO!

Smile!

We Love Books Linky with Deanna Jump. Picture Day Editable Note Freebies and More

I am super excited to be linking up with the amazing Deanna Jump
for her Book Linky.

I've wanted to do a blog post on

so Deanna’s linky just helped me get my patootie in gear.  This book tells a story every teacher can relate to in that the main character Josephina Caroleena Wattasheena has a slight problem staying focused.  SAY WHAT???

(click on the pictures if you're like me and can't read the small format)

She is always wondering about how things work rather than what she should be doing.
 Sound Familiar???

I bet you have a few students’ names on the tip of your tongue right now.  Don’t you??? I know I do!

Joshephina is always fidgeting, fiddling, fuddling, and foopling with something; she’s pretty much a tornado in action tearing up everything in her path. I love the way this story ends, it's a great reminder for us that every child has a talent and sometimes our weaknesses are our strengths.  I hope you love this book as much as I do, you can pick it up on Amazon.

I have also put together a 3 free activities to go along with the story as well as some picture day reminders that are EDITABLE in PowerPoint. You can pick up your copies here. ( with all the fidgeting, fiddling, fuddling, and foopling in this story you could also do a great lesson on alliteration .)

Bye Bye Firsties and a Giveaway!

Hey all!  I’m a little embarrassed by how long it has been since I posted.  Hi! :::waves:::  It’s Caroline!  I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth.  I had a super busy year with a class of kiddos and my boys at home that kept me moving until I passed out at 9 PM!  Haha!  Now I’m on summer break and ready to share some stuff with you.  Alison’s been great at sharing all year.  Thanks girl!

So, since I’ve been away SO long, I’m going to give away my new product, “Good-bye First Grade!”  I will give this product away to the first 2 people who comment (make sure you put your email!).  Comment away and I will send it your way!  I’m really excited to share this.  It turned out so cute!

Here are some pictures of the project during and after.  It always cracks me up to see how the kids draw their faces!

Can't wait to see your comment!  I also put it on TPT for $1.00 for a FLASH sale so if you miss the giveaway, it's still 50% off!

Smiles!

Thank You, A New Game, and A Giveaway for Adjectives, Nouns, and Verbs

THANK YOU FOR LINKING UP!
WOW!  Can you believe the PLETHORA of freebies Krista from Creative Clips GAVE AWAY during her 10 day celebration?  This gal has a talent she could monopolize on so easily but instead she is keeping it real and providing amazing resources to teachers.  KRISTA, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I also want to thank everyone that took the time to link up one or more of their wonderful resources to help Krista celebrate; you too are making a difference by helping other teachers put great resources in their classrooms.

 A NEW GAME
READY, SET, SHOW!
Ready, Set, Show is a game you can play with just about any skill.  I like playing this game because at the games end you will know which students need a little more practice on the skills you were reviewing.  This is a quick game that can be used as a follow up to a lesson or as a time filler if a lesson runs short or your schedule changes. (I’m sure that never happens at your school.)

Here’s how you play:

Today’s skills are Nouns & Verbs.

  1. Make a list of nouns and verbs you would like to use.
  2. Give each student a noun and verb card.
  3. Have students place the two cards on their desk face up.
  4. Students should place one hand on each card.
  5. Say a word from your list, then say Ready, Set, Show. (hands         and cards should remain on students desk until you say “show”.
  6.  Students should hold up the correct card.
***It is easy to tell which students need more practice by their      wondering eyes and hesitation.

WHO WANTS TO PLAY?  If you would like to win a copy of “ALL KINDS OF FUN” with Adjectives, Nouns, and Verbs leave a comment with your e-mail address. If you would like two chances to win you can also stop by our Facebook page and leave a comment with your e-mail. I will pick one winner on each page sometime before Thursday. Here's a peek of what's inside "ALL KINDS OF FUN WITH ADJECTIVES, NOUNS AND VERBS"
